How does this process work?

1. Once I receive the ashes you sent a picture will be taken of the box and sent to you. This is to confirm that it is indeed your box and the condition it was received. At this point, you should be given a timeframe as to when your order will be made. 99% of all orders are made within 3-5 days, depending on the workload.

2. When your order is ready to be made, you will receive another text message or email stating this. At this point, you will start to receive regular messages until your item is completed.

3. The next message will be a picture of the ring core if you have chosen a ring. It will contain a picture of the ring core against a chart. This picture will let you know for 100% certainty that we are providing you with the correct size ring.

4. Cremation Creations will start to inlay the ashes into the ring core; After that process has finished, you will receive an additional message with a picture showing the ashes within the ring. This helps people by taking out any doubt that the ashes are contained within the ring.

5. At this point, we will work with you on helping you select a color or creating a mix of colors that makes you love the ring even more. If you can not communicate with us on the colors, you wish to have, please make sure you place the color rations in the notes at checkout when you purchase the item. The recommendation is a 70/30 ratio; you want the primary color chosen to be enhanced. Like hair gets highlights, they only do streaks to enhance it.

6. At this juncture, your ring will be completed, and you will receive a picture of the results. If you would like to send us a photo, we can incorporate that into a photomontage with the jewelry. It adds a beautiful tribute to the loved one.

Will you create a piece with human ashes?

How do I get the ashes to you?

Check out our Shipping Page

This page contains instructions on how to ship.

Place a small amount in a Ziplock bag 1/2 teaspoon, then triple bag it in another Ziplock, ship it express mail or priority mail. Please make sure ALL air is out of the bag before shipping. This process is, so the bag burst under pressure during transit due to pressure changes going in a plane or through the mountains with altitude changes. The United States Postal Service states that cremated remains should be mailed via EXPRESS mail. Most of my clients mail the pages standard priority shipping with a tracking number. Since we receive packages from around the world, and the cost differs based on where it is shipped from the cost of shipping cremains to Cremation Creations is at the buyer's expense and responsibility. It is simply unfair to make a person shipping a few hundred miles away pay the price of someone shipping from another country. All shipping additional fees at check-out will be to mail the completed jewelry back to you, the end-user, via USPS. The cost will be slightly higher as the package will be insured.

How durable is titanium?

Titanium is a natural element that is nearly half the weight of standard stainless-steel surgical instruments and as light as aluminum. Titanium is extraordinary corrosion resistance, and ability to withstand extreme temperatures as durable as steel and is the most hypoallergenic element known to man, making it the ideal metal for jewelry. Titanium is completely hypoallergenic. Titanium is the most hypoallergenic material known to man. It is rapidly replacing other surgical implants (prosthetic implants such as hip, shoulder, and jaw) and surgical instruments (Forceps, hemostats, and Micro Blades) since the body does not react to it. They are nearly half the weight of standard stainless-steel surgical instruments.

Titanium is more durable and lighter in weight compared to stainless steel.

Titanium has significant resistance to repeated loads making it ideal for its application as an implant.

Titanium has greater superior strength under repeated load stresses, making this metal capable of withstanding strain during internal fixation. With a lower modulus of elasticity compared to stainless steel, titanium is less rigid, which limits the amount of stress on bone structures.

Titanium is less prone, generating an immune reaction since this material is corrosion-resistant compared to stainless steel implants.

Titanium color ranges from gray to silver in color. Polished titanium is very close to Platinum, just a few shades darker.

Titanium is durable, but it is not scratch proof. Titanium will scratch just like any other metals. The difference is: on titanium scratches will be very superficial, just barely on the surface, and can be easily buffed out. Gold and platinum rings will scratch much deeper. Also, with titanium, you do not have to agonize about deformation, nicks, and pits, and the ring will retain its original form and design forever, even after multiple re-finishing to bring out the luster.

Titanium rings are seven times stronger than popular white metal alloy traditionally used for wedding bands or engagement rings. While it's recommended that your titanium ring be cleaned, polished and removed during extreme situations, titanium will never rust and resist fading. The anticipated longevity of your titanium rings is a lifetime.

How much of the ashes do I need to send?

I only need a very small amount of ashes (less than 1/8 to 1/4 of a teaspoon depending on size of item, per item) to create the jewelry. I will mail any unused ashes back to you with the completed piece of jewelry via Express Shipping. If you do not want unused ashes returned, let me know at the time the order is placed.

Does titanium come in different colors?

Titanium is a reactive metal that can be anodized in different colors by electrolysis or thermal treatment. Unfortunately, this type of surface treatment is not permanent. An anodized titanium ring would look good initially, but quickly appear scratched and discolored as you start wearing the ring. I have the ability to do this process but advise against it, as the color will not last.

What is your warranty policy?

Here at Cremation Creations, we go to great lengths to create beautiful jewelry and quality cremation jewelry at affordable rates. This warranty statement outlines our guarantee to you when you purchase a Cremation Creations piece of jewelry. We create our jewelry using durable, but not indestructible, materials. If you subject any jewelry to forces such as striking, banging, and or other damaging insults, your jewelry may become scratched or even broken. Titanium, Gold, Stainless Steel, Silver, tungsten, and wood can end up gouged, bent, cracked, or broken. The inlaid material, whether it is created using cremation ashes (cremains), crushed opal, crushed stone, semi-precious stones, or other substrates may be less durable than the ring or setting itself. The inlaid material may chip or break off and fall from their settings if you expose them to harsh conditions such as extreme temperatures, chemicals, harsh cleansers, or mechanical duress.

Everyone wears jewelry differently. Some people can wear their rings for years with no issues at all, and others require regular repairs and adjustments. The most common damage to Cremation Jewelry and other fine jewelry is through wear and tear; bent rings, inlays damaged, and lost stones are common in today's popular delicate styles.

Most manufacturing defects will show up quickly, usually within the first month of wear, as the structure of the jewelry piece is compromised.

30-Day “No Hassle” Limited Warranty Repair Policy:Your purchase of Cremation Creations Jewelry comes with a FREE "no hassle" 30-day limited warranty against manufacturing defects. If your purchased jewelry has a manufacturing defect (chipping, breaking, etc.), we will repair your purchased jewelry once at no cost to you. A clear photo of the defective ring showing visible defects is required to be emailed to us within (30 days) of the original order date. If a replacement is not available, we may offer another similar style ring or other jewelry at the same value. If your jewelry contains cremation remains, you may be required to send the Jewelry and addition ashes to Cremation Creations.

One (1) SINGLE replacement within the first 30 days warranty period is your exclusive remedy for any jewelry purchased with a manufacturing defect and is our entire liability to you for any breach of the limited warranty set forth herein. You have no right to return for a replacement or refund any ring purchased from us set forth in the return policy and this limited warranty. No Returns or Warranties are granted after the initial 30 days. Upon receiving the unit to be repaired, we deemed the item was damaged due to abnormal environmental conditions, exposure to harsh chemicals, negligence, the items will be returned to you at your expense with an explanation.

Repair of Natural Materials: If any material in your item becomes damaged, please contact us right away, and we can assess your piece if it can be repaired (a fee may apply depending on the level of damage). We will provide you with available repair options. If your jewelry is deemed to be damaged beyond repair, we'll replace it with a new ring for a cost of 50% of the current retail price plus shipping cost. This will be a one-time offer and will not carry over to the new replacement ring.

Repair of Black Ceramic or Tungsten: Black Ceramic or Tungsten may shatter or chip and is therefore deemed to be damaged beyond repair, we'll replace it with a new ring for a cost of 50% of the current retail price considered that we have the supplies to make the item in stock, upon the return of the damaged ring (this excludes gold and silver, these metals will be accessed based on market value). This is a one-time offer and will not carry over to the new replacement ring.NOTE: If you take the ring to any other jeweler to get it resized, repaired, or cleaned in any way, the guarantee is void. This includes any and all alterations made to your ring.

Damage or loss of semi-precious stones, remains are not covered by any guarantee.

This limited warranty does not cover loss or theft and is non-transferable (i.e., valid only for the original purchaser). You will be responsible for shipping both ways.

Please Note These Exceptions to the Limited Warranty for All Jewelry:

The limited warranty does not cover size changes due to weight loss/gain or ring thickness changes, scratches or damage incurred due to abuse, abnormal environmental conditions, exposure to harsh chemicals: Acids, Fuels, Ammonias, Solvents or Abrasives, negligence, use contrary to care instructions or loss of the ring.

Tungsten and Titanium rings are scratch resistant but not scratch proof. Tungsten may break if dropped on hard floors or often exposed to harsh chemicals (bleach, Lysol, hand sanitizer, alcohol products, Lotions, perfumes). Anodizing may fade or in all be removed due to chemicals, oils, or may even be scratched off if non-proper care is taken.Solid gold does scratch, and a simple trip to a local jeweler for a buffing will polish out your scratches. Gold or colored plating will wear over time but will wear faster if exposed to harsh chemicals. Additionally, engraving plated rings can potentially weaken the plating, causing chipping, and therefore engraving a plated ring voids your limited warranty.

Also, please be advised that apparent submerged water damage to any wood ring will void your limited warranty as natural wood rings are not meant to be submerged in any liquid. It is always a good idea to take them off before swimming, washing hands, or any activity that includes any activity with water. If your jewelry piece becomes damaged, stop use immediately. Further use may cause more damage and loosen the substrate or even become sharp and cause damage to you or property. Cremation Creations will not be held liable for property or personal injury/damage for using the items in non-proper and well-maintained condition.

Summing it up: Use common sense; if it is broke, get it fixed. Do not continue to use the item, it can possibly harm yourself or someone else. If you have or suspect that you have any allergy to any material being used, discontinue use. Please be aware if you have any such allergy before you purchase. If you have purchased an item that you have an allergy to materials, please contact Cremation Creations before the item is made, and we would be happy to refund the money paid. If you have purchased an item that you have an allergy to and move forward with the order, you do so at your own risk, and Cremation Creations is not liable.

If we suspect that you are abusing any warranty while you under the limited warranty or otherwise making a false claim of defect, we reserve the right to void your limited warranty.

What is your return policy?

Due to the personalized nature of the product, custom-made items cannot be returned. In some states it's deemed illegal for the return of certain jewelry Items.

Keep in mind, however, that there are natural variations in the substrates I use to create each item. Opal (both color and "play of color"), natural stones like turquoise, shell products (i.e. mother of pearl), wood grain, as well as the ashes or cremains themselves are all unique. It is the combining of these different substances together that make each keepsake unique and therefore one-of-a-kind.

Other items on my website that are not personalized may be returned for a refund, unless they are tampered with or damaged after you receive them, or if they can except or have had ashes in them already.
